Is the Synthetic Ice real (wet) Ice?

This is a skating surface and not real (wet) Ice, as Real Ice Rinks are very expensive to run with high energy cost and are environmentally damaging. The Synthetic Ice Rinks are kinder to the environment and are a great substitute. Both novices and professionals can use our product and as the surface is slightly slower is has been proven to be safer for new skaters.

If Hi5 Events provide staff are they first aid trained?

At least one of our rink staff is first aid certified and all staff CRB checked.

What is the difference between real & Synthetic Ice?

Apart from cost and the environmental impact our Synthetic Rinks can be installed for just a few hours. There are no hidden extra costs as there is no need for expensive generators and chillers. The Synthetic Ice allows us to be able to bring the experience of skating to children and adults.

What surface can the Ice Rinks be built on?

The flatter the surface the better, ideally on hard standing but failing this we can build the rinks on grass and any other surfaces.

Do you require power?

If the client is not hiring a generator we will require a 13amp power supply for the duration of the event including build and de-rig.

What happens if the Ice Rink is left over night?

The client will be required to have overnight security or we can provide this for you.

Do you carry Insurance?

Yes we provide £10 million public liability insurance cover, we also have a 100% safety record.

Do you supply risk and method statements?

Yes, once the event has been booked, we sent our RAMS (risk assessments, method statements and a copy of our insurance policy.

Do you cater for people with disabilities?

We can supply a “disabled skate chair” if requested when the rink was booked.

Can we charge customers to skate?

The client may charge the public to participate, but must provide the appropriate staff to  collect the money.

How long is a good length of skating session?

We would recommend anything between 25 and 45 min but we have found that 30min is the ideal time frame.

What size Ice Skates do you provide?

Our Ice Skates range from Children Size 8 to Adult Size 12
